This quieter inner sanctum of the Festival is a musical chill zone, and will feature instrumentalists, songwriters and their collaborators in a more intimate setting. From Bedouin tents to bean bags and hay bales, this mini arena in Arnold Street caters to Cape Town’s classic laid back ambiance. Mountain behind you, sun on your face, and with vendors and bar close at hand. Musically, this space allows for more esoteric collaborations and unusual pairings: Expect the unexpected, from hip hop to classical from strings to strumming. Yes, you will find amplifiers and keyboards, but this is a lower tech zone at lower volume. Full bar and organic food and craft vendors complete the pretty picture, making it the perfect place to picnic the whole day or just as a short rest stop ‘midst the festivities that will be raging down the road. |
