  1. What time does the festival start?

    Friday: 17h30: OBZ Loud Concert – Opening night!
    Saturday: 09h00: Market and Festival site open
    12h00: OBZ Acoustic Stage opens
    OBZ Loud & OBZ Live Stage
    20h00: OBZ Acoustic Stage ends
    24h00: OBZ Loud Stage ends
    Sunday: 09h00: Market and Festival site open
    12h00: OBZ Lazy Sunday opens on the Village Green
    OBZ Acoustic stage opens – link to Ac page
    18:00: Both music stages ends

    Market closes at 7pm on Saturday & Sunday. Food available until 2am.

  2. Where do I park?

    Visit the “Festival Parking & Layout” page on the website where we have a detailed map of the festival and secure parking areas.

    For a nominal fee all official festival parking areas will have security, lighting as well as toilets.

    Parking is always a challenge when hosting a major event within a residential area. Please respect the parking bays and driveways of our residents and advise other festival goers of the same. Both Observatory Junior School Parking area and Liesbeeck Parking are approximately 500m from the Main Festival stage with secure pedestrian routes to all the stages and market

  3. Where are the Toilets?

    Public Toilets are indicated on Festival map. These facilities will be serviced throughout the festival.

  4. Where do I get my tickets?

    The only stage within the festival with an entry fee is the Village Green stage where we will feature the OBZ Live stage, OBZ Loud stage and the Lazy Sunday concert

    Tickets will also be sold at the venue on the day.

    Tickets available for the following:
    • OBZ Loud Friday bands and DJ’s from 6pm to midnight
    • Saturday 1 ticket for OBZ Loud and OBZ Live with bands from 12 midday to midnight
    • Lazy Sunday concert bands from 12 midday to 6pm
    • OBZ Film

    We also offer a Village Green weekend pass (weekend access to Main stage area) includes access to OBZ Film

  5. Are there festival bars?

    Both live stages (OBZ Acoustic Stage & Village Green stages) will have cash bar facilities. All licensed venues within the festival zone will open

  6. Will there be cash facilities?

    There are two ATM facilities within the festival zone: One in Station Road and a mobile ATM on the Village Green (opposite Spar). Security will be provided at these ATM’s during festival times (ie 09h00 to 00h00)

  7. What’s not allowed at OBZfestival?

    A bad attitude
    No weapons
    You will not be allowed to bring alcohol into festival venues including cooler boxes and bottles. No Illegal Substances

  8. If I need help, where do I go?

    For general information, visit the festival info stand at the entrance to the Village Green and OBZ Acoustic stage in Arnold Street.

    For any health and safety issues, speak to any security guard or festival staff member. We have a full team of medics and security working throughout the festival zone.

    Please be alert and use the main festival pedestrian routes to and from the secure parking areas. Secure pedestrian routes to and from parking areas are Nuttal Road and Station Road.

    As with any public event, please be aware of your Cellphone, wallet and your friends.

    For any other emergency, make contact with the Production Office located at the Metro Police Training Centre (entrance to Village Green Stage)

  9. Is the festival wheelchair friendly?

    Yes it is. “Disabled Parking” has been provided in Drake Street

  10. Can I bring my camera?

    Personal cameras & video cameras are allowed. Professional photography and filming will require a media pass obtainable from the festival media co-ordinators. Please note certain artists do not allow filming of their performances. Please respect these requests.

  11. Where and when is OBZ Film?

    OBZ film is a partnership with Encounters Film Festival. It takes place on Sunday 7th December at the Armchair Theatre on lower Main Road. Check the OBZ Film webpage for details.

  12. Until what time are bars and clubs open?

    The festival ends at midnight. Bars, pubs, clubs in the area will stay open as per their liquor licence conditions

  13. Will there be passouts?

    All stages are free except the one on the Village Green, where you will be provided with a wristband.
