Recognising a need for a little control and comfort and as part of the ongoing regeneration of Observatory - the heart of the festival will be in the Village Green area located opposite the Spar in Station Road.

OBZ Live

New sounds, new bands, new directions. These are the artists to watch out for, the bands on the way up, the talent that is destined for stardom and OBZlive is their launching pad. Many of the local Cape Town bands that are now collecting international awards and rocking the stages all over the planet, cut their baby teeth on the OBZlive stage from years past.

OBZ Loud

After being well and truly toasted by the OBZlive acts (there is no way you can call them warm ups) the heavyweights kick in for an A- list bill to take the festival well into the night.

The OBZloud stage is the setting where you will be proud to be a Capetonian and can gloat in the talent pool and musical diversity that the Mother City has managed to offload worldwide. And you can do all of this in the shade of one of the world’s most magnificent mountain. It is indeed good to live in Cape Town.

The band was formed when Hunter Kennedy and Jaco Venter from Fokofpolisiekar, teamed up with friends Laudo Liebenberg and Hennie van Halen, joining their combined creative forces in making music that expresses their shared experiences and influences. aKING is an audio diary of life and survival in the suburbs. Sat, 6th December 9:30PM OBZ Loud	Nine In 1991 four guys from the Cape Flats decided to dabble into the, then culturally taboo, world of hard rock.Inspired by artists like Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Living Colour, Fishbone, Bad Brains and later Soundgarden, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Rage Against The Machine, our intrepid heroes forged a style of their own. Embracing the worlds of Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Charlie Parker and John McLaughlin, they fused jazz, funk, hip hop, adding distorted guitar and mad riffing. Read more »
