Carla du Plessis
My art is formed by the conceptual and theatrical insights of Fine Arts. I feel that the divide between commercial, ‘accessible’ art and fine art is too rigid. Through my work I attempt to bridge this divide by making conceptual understanding accessible to a wider market and impart some of the knowledge I have to society.
Ebb and Flow is a collection of unique and individual pieces of canvasses that reflect a certain number of days in my life

Elaine Woodbridge
Working to repurposed glass bottle vases, Elaine’s work revolves around the fact that 75%t of what is thrown away in the average household can be recycled and 9% of this is glass. Recycling and repurposing glass saves energy, lowers emissions, reduces landfill and quarrying. Elaine collects all types of glass bottle from olive oil, vinegar, wine and spirits to water, and repurposes them to make simple, stylish vases. The bottles are softly reshaped using a heat process, sawn off and hand ground to reshape the necks. All have a silky, matt finish and look great in groups with individual blooms or grasses.

Elske Henderson
Elske Henderson has started developing as an artist in oils, after following her soul from corporate to art. A passion for fish, bones and family has led to explorations specific to these themes. Elske has used her background in marketing and business consulting, and combined it with her love of art to start The Artist’s Touch. The art consultancy markets affordable art pieces (paintings, sculptures and exceptional pieces) which bring life to a specific space, be it interior or exterior; thereby providing emerging artists with a vehicle to market their art directly to the decision makers in the interior design, architecture, hospitality and tourism industries.

Monika Roese
Monika’s style of painting is predominantly abstract, creating depth by using texture and warmth with the use of colour, with the aim of creating atmosphere in any space. Her style is differentiated by the strategic use of geometric form representing modern society and the abstract texture representing earth and nature and their contradiction in existence

Rebecca Townsend
Art does not reproduce what we see; rather, it makes us see” – Paul Klee
Based on this statement, the artist, Rebecca Townsend, has taken familiar objects and cast them in glass. Her intention is to address the lack of attention with which we consume and discard things. And in this way we are encouraged to reconsider the manner in which we treat the world.
‘Precious’, an exhibition of cast and fused glass objects and installations, is showing at the Irma Stern Museum in Cecil Road, Rosebank, Cape Town. The exhibition runs from the 4th to the 22nd of March 2008.

Jane McIlleron
I try to make jewellery that is beautiful, wearable, fun; but most importantly, that retains some of the sense of significance, of meaning, that was its original function - jewellery that is meaningful to its wearer in a private sense, and in his or her relation to those around them. A lot of my work is inspired by the natural world - fish, leaves, wings, insects, birds. My other enduring interest is art, in its widest and most inclusive sense; strange, beautiful, disturbing, and full of meaning, whether obvious or not
